Ettrick Rocks, where you will be staying - The story behind the name

Ettrick Rocks, as known by locals, is adjacent to the river Ettrick, the river named after an 8 ton Cutter that was wrecked there around 1847 and owned by the Bass Strait ‘policeman’ David Howie. The name of the location befitted the name of our coastal and luxurious accommodation retreats.

Why Ettrick Rocks?

The location offers stunning and breathtaking views fronting the Southern Ocean. Guests will enjoy the rugged topography directly in front of their retreats and within a stone’s throw will find a number of small and secluded sandy sheltered coves and rock pools. There is an abundance of sea shells to collect, a favourite with children and parents alike.
